AC Milan were outthought and outplayed for the vast majority of last night’s game against Inter, losing 2-0 in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final clash.

The best player on the pitch for the Rossoneri was Mike Maignan which speaks volumes, and he was given a 6.5, while Theo Hernandez struggled the most and was thus given a 4.5 after a difficult night on the left.
The defensive department all struggled with Davide Calabria (4.5), Simon Kjaer (5) and Fikayo Tomori (5) guilty of being pulled out of position too many times, but Malick Thiaw (6) did better off the bench.
In midfield Sandro Tonali was a lone bright spot as he was given a 6, but Rade Krunic struggled and got a 5 as did Ismael Bennacer, though he was brought off early in the game.
Brahim Diaz, Alexis Saelemaekers and Junior Messias each received a 5 in what was a difficult night for the attacking department, but Olivier Giroud and Divock Origi did get a 5.5.
Milan should use Kjaer and thiaw for the centre back instead of tomori. tomori needs time to be solid sometimes tomori has committed goals or penalty against Milan defence Stefano Pioli makes mistakes in subbing Kjaer
I perfectly agree with you. Tomori is sometimes jittery especially in big marches and make avoidable mistakes. He should be calm and not be over reliant on his pace.
Alexis was solid. he and tonali were the only ones trying to make things happen. idk what theos role was that night but he was invisible. Inter has a lot more exp team and it shows again and again. Milan should try and sign Kross, Gunodgan or Kante on free this summer, that should give a ton of ex and quality to mid
Tonali was more particular about himself and that led to second goal. He was a bit careful not to be booked so he will miss the 2nd leg but it cost us so dearly.
i dont care about that goal. there was plenty of people who could and should close down space on Mikis run.. but they didnt. so tonali is not so much at fault imao.. He played good apart from that situation
Exactly. Despite Tonali’s fault at the 2nd goal one cannot ignore the fact that Tonali & Saelemaekers were the two most positive Milan performers last night. And when you think about it, it’s pretty sad and highlights how bad the others were.
Pioli should speak to the guyz to be more focused especially in the first 20mins of our matches. If Napoli took their chances in the first leg of the quarter finals it would have been a different story all together.
When we find our rhythm after 20mins we are difficult to handle.
To Maldini and Masara we need quality attackers who have pace, footworks and have eye for goal. We are lacking depth in that department.
The team needs squad depth coz this is evident in the points we have dropped with the low tier teams
