AC Milan failed to score their first goal in the Champions League this season last night, losing 3-0 to PSG away from home. Several of the Rossoneri players struggled and their performances have been analysed in today’s papers.
Stefano Pioli and his men struggled from the get-go and after the first goal, PSG took over the affair. Today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below) has taken stock of the player performances, naming Davide Calabria the best at 6/10.
The Milan captain entered the pitch with the right spirit and somewhat stopped Kylian Mbappe in his tracks. The likes of Mike Maignan, Pierre Kalulu, Malick Thiaw, Yunus Musah, Rafael Leao, Yacine Adli and Tommaso Pobega didn’t pass the test at 5.5/10 but were far from the worst.
Olivier Giroud and Christian Pulisic both got a 5. The latter missed a huge opportunity at the start of the second half, while the veteran had a few chances he didn’t make anything of. However, they weren’t the worst either.
Fikayo Tomori was named the worst at 4.5, heavily involved in the first goal and also the one that got disallowed. Rade Krunic and Tijjani Reijnders also didn’t convince at all and got the same rating.
I hope you guys saw what a world class player is? Leao isn’t fit to lace mbappe’s boots. He is nowhere world class and with that attitude, I am afraid he has hit his ceiling.

To use his strengh pioli need to develop the middfield to get leao in action not to relay all the preassure on one player. Have a look on the right site, pulisic cant handle a ball and if he fire a shot evry shot in the middle of the goal. Against juventus as he came off milan diddnt miss him.

Leao lacks intensity, he needs to be careful that he doesn’t turn into Balotelli, he should leave the rapping and focus on Milan. If he wants to be on Mbappe’s level he needs to work 10x harder, the difference between the 2 in terms of ability at the moment is like comparing Simone Inzaghi to Ronaldo Nazario.
His career will be more like Balotelli’s than Mbappe’s. He lacks the willpower.
Mbappe earns way north of 100m a year, that’s not really a fair comparison.
