Tommaso Pobega is all set to return to AC Milan and this time he could stay rather than be loaned out again, a report claims.
La Gazzetta dello Sport writes how after two loans at Terni in Serie C and Pordenone in Serie B, Maldini and Massara made Pobega sign a renewal until 2025 before sending him on a one-year experience to Spezia, where he impressed.
If Tonali’s permanent signing does not go through, the 21-year-old midfield would have even more chances to stay and the Rossoneri are also mindful of the fact that they let Manuel Locatelli leave on the cheap while he is now worth €40m.
Staying at Milan and playing in the Champions League with Pioli would be a dream for Pobega, while the fact he would go down as a home-grown player for the UEFA squad list helps, plus he would be able to cover when Kessie and Bennacer leave for the African Cup of Nations.
