GdS: Milan preparing contract renewal with significant pay rise for Maignan

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are already working on the renewal of Mike Maignan, whose contract will expire in 2026. The goalkeeper is set to receive his first pay rise, as highlighted by a report this morning.

Maignan arrived at Milan back in 2021, following the departure of Gigio Donnarumma, and the Rossoneri paid just €15m for his services. They certainly got a bargain, as the goalkeeper is considered one of the best in the world.

According to today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), Milan are already working on Maignan’s contract renewal. He has not received a pay rise since he arrived at the club, currently outside of the top three highest earners with €2.8m per year.

The Rossoneri know that the goalkeeper deserves a much higher salary and their plan is to get him closer to Ismael Bennacer and Theo Hernandez (both €4m per year). Given that he’s now worth at least €75m, as the newspaper concludes, he’s worthy of a pay rise.
