GdS: Milan scout left impressed by Boca Juniors midfielder Fernandez

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan appear to be in the market for a new midfielder and they have Ezequiel Fernandez of Boca Juniors on their watch list, a report claims.

According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), Milan are also looking outside Europe for potential additions that could arrive in the coming transfer windows to bolster the squad.

They report that a Milan scout was in Argentina to watch Ezequiel Fernandez, a central midfielder for Boca Juniors, and the trip did not go unnoticed.

The feeling is that Fernandez would be a good fit at the base of a midfield three in the position that Rade Krunic and Yacine Adli currently occupy, though at the moment it is just simple interest registered rather than an active negotiations.

The admiration for the 21-year-old is also shared in Europe, where in recent months there have been reports of calls in the direction of Argentina from Benfica and Liverpool, among others.

Milan have not stopped looking for young talent: they are talking to Real Betis about Juan Miranda and are also exploring South America.

  1. How about looking in Italy rather than south America, save on the travelling, some pretty decent midfielders around, and you don’t have to go to the other side of the planet.
Maybe someone should inform Mr Monkada of this ??!!
Other italian clubs seem perfectly capable of signing italian players, despite growth decree etc but we seem to have real problems with that??!!
