GdS: Milan’s signing of Midtjylland star Onyedika hinges on Bakayoko

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have set their sights on Raphael Onyedika for the midfield and negotiations are ongoing with Midtjylland. However, before going any further, the Rossoneri will have to offload Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Bakayoko was brought in on a two-year loan from Chelsea last summer and after a disappointing first season, Milan are willing to let him leave early. The English side are also ready to accept this, but a new destination will have to be found.

According to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), the likes of Galatasaray and Nottingham are interested in Bakayoko. The latter club are having second thoughts, though, having just signed Remo Freuler.

Once the Bakayoko situation has been dealt with, then Milan will be able to focus solely on Onyedika. The 21-year-old has a price tag of around €8m and it’s believed that Milan could reach an agreement with Midtjylland thanks to bonuses.

  1. Ndombele more of an attacking 8 or 10, not really suited for double pivot. I don’t see a role for him in our current squad.
