GdS: Milan stalling on Ibrahimovic’s renewal – it is currently hard to imagine him staying

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have chosen to reflect first before holding talks with Zlatan Ibrahimovic regarding a new deal, according to a report.

We reported earlier on Thursday via our correspondent Vito Angele that CEO Ivan Gazidis is not against Ibrahimovic’s renewal because of marketing, social and sponsorship reasons, combined with the strong performances on the field.

This is an extension, however, which must obviously be discussed with the player who returned for a second spell because of the influence of Maldini and Boban. To date, the 38-year-old’s farewell is not a foregone conclusion, but rather the contrary.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport reports (via MilanNews) the post-Boban era has not brought any news for Ibra so far with a face-to-face meeting between he and Gazidis postponed for the time being. The former PSG striker though will not want to be kept waiting for long, and at the moment it remains ‘difficult’ to see him renewing.

The dilemma related to Zlatan is not the only one in question. To evaluate there is also the future of Giacomo Bonaventura, who will be officially released from June 30th, while Lucas Biglia looks set to return to Argentina when his deal expires.
