GdS: Milan target PSV star as upgrade for problem area but a player must be sold first

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan appear to have switched their primary target for the right-back position but must first of all sell to buy, a report claims.

Stefano Pioli has struggled for consistency on the right side of his defence as both Davide Calabria and Andrea Conti have not found form week-in week-out, plus they have both been affected by suspensions and injuries.

According to Wednesday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan will look to reinforce their back line after bolstering the midfield with the additions of Sandro Tonali and Brahim Diaz plus hopefully that of Tiemoue Bakayoko.

The Rossoneri have been looking for a new right-back for some time and the name of PSV Eindhoven captain Denzel Dumfries is highlighted in particular by the paper as a target.

However, in order to sink the blow for the Netherlands international, Paolo Maldini and co. must first of all negotiate the sale of one of Conti or Calabria.

MilanNews are reporting that Cagliari are interested in the latter and have presented a €10m bid, but Milan want €12m.
