GdS: Milan to recoup €20m+ from Paqueta sale – attention to Fofana, Milenkovic and Chiesa

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will raise at least €20million from the sale of Lucas Paqueta, a report claims, with the Brazilian now all set to join Lyon.

Paqueta arrived at Milan from Flamengo back in January 2019 and after a positive first half-season under Gennaro Gattuso, things quickly went south for the Brazilian firstly under Marco Giampaolo then under Stefano Pioli.

The 23-year-old is arguably one of the only young players that Pioli has not managed to transform and improve the form of, and now a number of sources are reporting that Paqueta is now in fact closing in on a move to Lyon, and it will not be a paid loan with an option to buy but rather a guaranteed €20m.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan will collect €20m plus a percentage on a possible resale. The Brazilian will move to France outright, although it has yet to be understood whether the it will be an immediate fee or a loan with obligation to buy.

The newspaper claims that it could help Milan launch a move for Wesley Fofana of Saint-Etienne, Nikola Milenkovic of Fiorentina or possibly even Federico Chiesa.
