GdS: Milan player ratings from Venezia win – duo unlock the game while summer signings struggle

By Oliver Fisher -

It was certainly not a vintage performance from AC Milan against Venezia last night, but they just about got the job done with a 2-0 win.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) carries their player ratings for the game, and gives Theo Hernandez the title of man of the match with a score of 7.5 out of 10 for his impact off the bench, amassing a goal and an assist.

The performances of Alessandro Florenzi and Fode Ballo-Touré were not positive notes however as they got a 5.5, with both seemingly not integrated into Stefano Pioli’s game mechanics just yet, but it has only been six games.

Plenty got a 6 out of 10, namely Mike Maignan, Matteo Gabbia, Alessio Romagnoli, Fikayo Tomori and Ante Rebic. Half a point more was given to Pierre Kalulu, Sandro Tonali and Rafael Leao. In particular Kalulu was singled out for praise as the young Frenchman has shown how important and talented he is as a resource.

A 7 was given to Alexis Saelemaekers for his impact off the bench, while Brahim Diaz and Ismael Bennacer got the same as the former scored and the latter had a hand in the opening goal.
