GdS: Milan very close to first January signing – €1m difference with five-year deal agreed

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s first signing of the January window looks likely to arrive from Ligue 1 in Strasbourg defender Mohamed Simakan, a report claims.

We reported yesterday via our correspondent Pietro Balzano Prota that while the interest of RB Leipzig has also been confirmed, but at the moment it is the Rossoneri who seem more determined to close the deal and are in more advanced discussions.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), an agreement with Strasbourg over the 20-year-old defender is one step away. The contacts over the last few days have led to an important rapprochement between the parties and now the gap is just €1m between offer and demand.

Milan’s offer is now €14m plus €3m in bonuses, while the French have moved towards the Rossoneri management by lowering the request from €20m to €18m.

Simakan and his entourage spoke clearly with Strasbourg to express his desire: they prefer Milan. The white smoke could arrive by the weekend, as there is already an agreement with the player for a five-year contract.
