GdS: Milan want to take advantage of excellent relations with Real Madrid and sign Jovic

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are once again considering the idea of signing Luka Jovic on loan from Real Madrid as a deputy to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a report claims.

The renewal of Ibrahimovic has been Milan’s top priority for several weeks, but the management know that at 38 (he will turn 39 next season) the Swede will not be able to play every game.

According to Wednesday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), that is precisely why Paolo Maldini and co. are considering a move for someone who can rotate with Ibra.

Currently the alternatives to the former PSG man are Rebic and Leao, but both are not out-and-out centre-forwards.

That is why the track that leads to Luka Jovic has opened up again. Real Madrid paid €65m to land him from Benfica a year ago but he struggled in his first season, and he has long been the first alternative in case Ibrahimovic didn’t renew.

Milan would like to take advantage of their excellent relations with the Spanish club to try to sign him perhaps on a dry loan, the same formula which will see Brahim Diaz arrive.
