GdS: Milan will close arrival of Kamada as Pioli gives green light to operation

By Oliver Fisher -

Some doubts had arisen over AC Milan’s move for Daichi Kamada in the last few days, but the management still want to complete the signing.

According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it), Kamada will soon become a new Milan player. The Japanese attacking midfielder will therefore be the second signing of the summer after Marco Sportiello.

Some bureaucratic complications regarding the player’s agents ended up delaying the signing, but that should be resolved during the course of this month.

Once that final obstacle has also been overcome, it will be time for the medical checks to take place and then Kamada will sign a contract that will bind him to the Rossoneri until 2027.

The 26-year-old was a target that Paolo Maldini pushed for, and he had already reached an agreement with the player over a deal worth €3m net per season.

Maldini’s sacking had brought about suggestions there could be a change of plan, but Kamada is a profile also wanted by the new management given Stefano Pioli’s approval of the operation.

  1. I think I will keep my excitement at minimal. I still remember how excited I was about the last Japanese Milan got and how disappointing he turned out to be. Honda’s efforts in Milan shirt never came even remotely close to his old highlights on YouTube.

  2. It’s about fkn time. Sign him. We the $hit budget we have beggars can’t be choosers. I agree with @bb – I will cautiously hold my breath. Solid signing but not expecting miracles from Kamada
