AC Milan will be up against Roma on Sunday and given the absences, Paulo Fonseca already has a pretty good idea of how the starting XI will look. According to a report, it will be a new attacking trio from the first minute.
With Yunus Musah, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Rafael Leao, Christian Pulisic and Noah Okafor out of action, Fonseca doesn’t have too many options from the midfield onwards. Against Verona, Filippio Terracciano played in the midfield tandem while Alex Jimenez moved to the left-wing position.
Against Roma, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, it should be the same attacking trio we saw from the 30th minute against Verona: Samuel Chukwueze, Tijjani Reijnders and Jimenez. It will be the first time for this trio from start, though, so it’s certainly makeshift.
Up front, we will either see Alvaro Morata or Tammy Abraham. The Spaniard is back in training but could perhaps be rested ahead of the Supercoppa Italian clash against Juventus. That clash is scheduled for Friday next week.
Predicted Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Emerson Royal, Gabbia, Thiaw, Hernandez; Fofana, Terracciano; Chukwueze, Reijnders, Jimenez; Abraham.
The goal is to have Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek and Leao ready from start against Juventus, even if this will be very difficult. The American might be back on the bench on Sunday, while the other two are focusing solely on the Bianconeri clash.
It’s just sad that chuwu can’t show what he got. I believe with 100 Prozent confident this guy would be killing the defense but unfortunately he lacks ideas and desicion due to lack of confidence. If he turns up he can be a tournado but he only showed glimpses of what he’s able to yet.
so for how long are we waiting that Chuku finally shows his worth? everytime he starts he is terrible. he had too many chances already but he mostly failed..
It’s his right foot that lacks. It’s easy to defend when someone has absolutely no ability to use both feet. It limits his choices.
He cannot show what he got”. Maybe he doesn’t have it. You guys have seen him playing for the team for over a year almost always with the same outcome but your still holding that hope of him showing qualities you imaginary see in him. Dreamer
He just isn’t that good. Saelemaekers, florenzi and krunic were all better.
Chukwu can only use his left foot like Calabria that only his right foot to play football. Terrible…
What is the deal with a) people randomly criticising Calabria (the club captain) even when he’s not the subject of the discussion); and b) people just making stuff up about him like he can’t/doesn’t use his left foot?
Calabria has a long history of cutting inside and crossing with his left foot including as recently as the last game he was allowed to play in.
What is the deal with Milan captains?
We’ve frozen out the last three club captains.
Montolivo, Romagnoli and Calabria.
In fairness to Pioli Romagnoli lost his place to in-form Kalulu and Tomori (both now being forced out as well) but Calabria seems to be getting the Montolivo treatment.
And it’s unclear what precisely Calabria has done to deserve this treatment, or how exactly Emerson is a professional footballer let alone the preferred starter.
In Calabria’s last start the LW he was marking was taken off at half time. That’s how good a job he did and he was immediately dropped.
Milan really are a club just lacking any kind of identity, or respect for their players. At least the other mid-table teams we’re now competing show respect for their longest serving players.
History will record that Calabria’s time at RB was one of the most successful periods for the club this century where won only our 3rd Scudetto this century, and returned to the champions league after years in the wilderness.
And now Calabria is being forced out we’re back to the wilderness.
For Calabria, i think it’s the management who frozen him. Heck, Tomori also looks like he’s been frozen so the management can sell him like they did to Kalulu.
I seriously despise this new management and owner.
