GdS: Milan’s probable XI for Lecce – no place for Calhanoglu or Piatek

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli will not start Hakan Calhanoglu against Lecce despite rumours suggesting otherwise, a report claims.

Pioli was confirmed as the Rossoneri’s new boss last Wednesday morning after Marco Giampaolo was sacked just 111 days into the job, and Sunday represents his managerial debut for the club.

A report from MilanNews.it on Saturday suggested that Calhanoglu would start in the left wing position over Ante Rebic, with Leao the centre-forward and Krzysztof Piatek relegated to the bench.

However, Sunday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport has a different take as they believe the front three will be Suso-Leao-Rebic with no place for the Turkey international.

Andrea Conti is expected to come in at right-back for the suspended Davide Calabria, with Mateo Musacchio, Alessio Romagnoli and Theo Hernandez making up the rest of the back four.

Franck Kessie and Lucas Paqueta will be in the midfield meanwhile, with Lucas Biglia at regista.
