GdS: Milan’s scouting team left impressed by 21-year-old forward who could leave Benfica

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are closely following Benfica striker Darwin Nunez as they look to bolster their attacking department ahead of next season, a report claims.

Speculation is rife among media outlets that the Rossoneri will enter the market in search of a new centre-forward during the upcoming mercato, one who can be a reliable deputy to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, growing under the wing of the Swede before taking over from him when he retires.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan are very attentive to young talents around the world and for this reason – thanks to their scouting department – the club are also closely following Darwin Nunez.

Although he only joined the Portuguese team in the last summer window, there is already the impression that the Uruguayan forward could leave after just a year because Benfica might not be able to resist the idea of making a quick profit on the 21-year-old.

  1. I really don’t know this kid, if he is the one someone was writing about, 4 goals & 6 or 7 assists – I gotta say, I’m not impressed at all! But, I could be wrong, it’s just the images of A. Silva come back to me, plus he had FAR BETTER numbers, yet, he failed!
However, tonight I watched both Holland playing, as well as Serbia, so got to 2 conclusions.
1st- Just confirmed my opinion that Memphis MUSTN’T EVEN BE CONSIDERED for Milan. He’s far from a real goalscorer, EVEN FURTHER AWAY from a classic striker that we need, he’s arrogant, creates problems with his teammates (the guy had 3 free-kicks & all awful – Holland doesn’t have any other shooter?)
2nd – Vlahovic had another great game & surely proves that he’s gonna become a great striker! Plus, he knows Serie A very well, I believe he is our best option! Better than Belotti I think…
