GdS: More minutes and responsibility – Pioli’s plan to end De Ketelaere’s dry spell

AC Milan’s big summer signing was Charles De Ketelaere from Club Brugge, and he is yet to open his account with a goal in the Rossoneri colours.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) write that De Ketelaere’s last goal dates back to April 2022, in Brugge’s 3-1 victory over Beerschot, and he has been dry since then. Nonetheless, he did take the big step to Milan over the summer and has the backing of all the fans, especially after his assist against Bologna.

So far, Milan have only had one goal from the trequarsiti department (Brahim’s against Udinese) and the target for Stefano Pioli is to unlock De Ketelaere, which can be helped by increasing the playing time available.

The 21-year-old has started four of the last five games and the only absence from the starting eleven was against Dinamo Zagreb.

Pioli underlined how De Ketelaere’s performance against Napoli was his best so far, but the Belgian needs more courage and the hope is that encouraging displays can be the launching pad for more end product.
