GdS: Mourinho personally calls Donnarumma to try convince him to join Roma

By Oliver Fisher -

Roma boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly called Gianluigi Donnarumma personally to try and convince him to join.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive), Mourinho – who was announced as the new Roma boss about a month ago – has personally contacted Donnarumma. The Giallorossi are looking for a new goalkeeper due to the fact both Pau Lopez and Antonio Mirante disappointed last season. Mourinho wants to use all his charm to convince Donnarumma, who can be signed on a free transfer due to the fact his contract is expiring.

For the capital club, who certainly do not boast a good financial situation, two worries remain. Gigio’s salary is the main one as he wants €10m net per year, while the commission to be paid to Raiola is the other. Donnarumma is currently waiting for offers from the big teams abroad, to try an adventure outside Italy, but Juventus and Roma are waiting.

  1. Damn Gigio, I thought you wanted to play at CL, turns out it wasn’t Champions League but CONFERENCE League. Fair play.
