GdS: ‘The new Joya’ – Milan move for Argentine sensation with €41m clause

Work is very much underway for the next mercato, and a report has suggested that AC Milan are interested in signing Argentina’s ‘next jewel’. However, they must move quickly to make a move happen.

When it comes to recruiting the best young players, the most important thing is time. In this regard, Milan are doing well so far, and Franco Mastantuono – the River Plate sensation – is not a new name at Casa Milan.

As Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) reports this morning, Geoffrey Moncada has been following the young Argentine for a while. The 17-year-old has ‘stolen the show’ in his homeland in the past year, and the country is ‘already falling in love with him’.

At 17, he possesses immense versatility to play as a midfielder and a striker, and he has even been deemed ‘the new Joya’ of Argentinian football – an honourable feat in itself. For this reason, the Rossoneri’s interest is spiked.

However, bringing him to Italy will not be cheap. Recently, he signed an extension with his current club until 2026 – with an option of an additional year – and this contract has a €41 million release clause inserted into it.

Whilst it is unlikely that the Diavolo would pay this amount, they have begun to sound out the idea of paying in two instalments. Alternatively, Milan may look to purchase the player, but allow him to remain in Argentina until his deal expires.

  1. we want Daniel Maldini to come back. we want more Italian and Brazilian players. that’s DNA of AC Milan.
    .
Mocanda should be sacked immediately. he could only clean my shoes. who gave him that job? who manages the club? this is getting really disgusting.

    1. Copy & Paste on every post, huh?

Moncada isn’t the problem here. You would understand that in theory if you understood our organizational chart.

  2. ACM wouldn’t even pay €21 millionfor Vinicius Júnior, Rodri or any Italian NT player.
20€ million euro is the magic number.

  3. Well we had the option of the original La Joya for free, but the higher ups felt that didn’t suit our model of investing in young players.

They then changed that model and formation, twice

Perhaps they are better to spend 40m on a goal scorer and play LIBERALI

Considering the people making decisions, we will probably sell Liberali for 3m (like Simic) to only then realise we need that kind of player.

I have ZERO confidence in our management

      1. You should check Maldini interview after the UCL game. He said as much as to why they didn’t go for Dybala and it was because of his age and not being in line with where the owners wanted to go…ie ‘youth’.
“But would he have been the right player for our project? Would he have been appropriate and shared by our owners? No.”
SJF said as much….its the higher ups that didn’t want him. Maldini also said he could have had a stronger team to compete (eg with Dybala) but it wasnt in line with what the owners wanted.

  4. When will Milan management learn to sell their own jewel this amount of money ..

All they do is to loan and sell for 3 to 5m.. max 10m or counter part
