AC Milan clinched yet another victory last night as they managed to beat Roma 2-1 way from home. It could have been a more comfortable night if they hadn’t received a red card, praised by the newspapers this morning.
The Rossoneri’s start to the season has indeed been very strong, collecting nine points in three games. As highlighted by today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Spor (via MilanNews), Milan had ‘total domination’ in the first half against Roma.
Fikayo Tomori’s sending-off made things more difficult but despite 30 minutes plus stoppages with a man down, Milan only conceded because of a wicked deflection. The defensive display was very impressive indeed.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek was one of the best on the pitch, as the newspaper continues, and the new signings have certainly impressed quickly. Having said that, ‘the old men’ Olivier Giroud and Rafael Leao also stepped up.
The first three games were difficult to predict, with so many new signings and new tactics, but Milan got the best start possible. The derby is up next and they will have to use the current enthusiasm to clinch the win.
