Unity is among the most important things at a football club in the good times, and more importantly in the bad. Today, reports have suggested that there is a split at AC Milan between Paulo Fonseca and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
It has been a rough start to the season for Milan, and there are no signs of anything getting better with Inter hosting the Rossoneri this weekend. The problems do not just end on the pitch, though, which probably explains the poor results on the pitch.
As Luca Bianchin reports for Gazzetta dello Sport (via Radio Rossonera), there is a rift between Ibra and Fonseca, that has developed in three parts. Worryingly, it is stated that the two are ‘no longer on good terms’ which is woeful between the owner’s vessel and the leader of the team.
It is believed that the rift first opened when Ibrahimovic spoke to the team without Fonseca’s presence at Milanello. Then it deepened when the Portuguese head coach stated there would be no more additions, only for the Swede to state “The coach is the coach, the management does the rest. The market closes when I say so” which caused Fonseca to complain about his stance.
The final showing of the split occurred this week before the Liverpool game when Ibrahimovic stated that ‘even if he was far away, he remains the boss’.
With conversations taking place after the Liverpool game about Fonseca’s future, the rocky relationship could be a reason why the Diavolo move on. Nevertheless, it is a concerning factor that a rift is in place, and it cannot happen again if a split occurs.
Ibra is poster boy and puppet.
Both are incompetent and under scrutiny and a lot of presure, of course they are not on good terms.
“Then it deepened when the Portuguese head coach stated there would be no more additions, only for the Swede to state “The coach is the coach, the management does the rest. The market closes when I say so” which caused Fonseca to complain about his stance”. This says it all. I doubt he would be acting like this if a top coach was in charge and a management team who can run a club like Milan.
I’m guessing Ibra was away getting leadership training. What a poo fling.
There’s a reason Ibra was opposed to hiring Conte. His ego will be his downfall and I do believe he thinks he’s bigger than the club.its all reflected in his decisions thus far.
Sorry but get Ibra out of this club. He shouldn’t be making any big decisions and his ego is out of control. He has none of Maldini’s class and dignity. He only played for us for what, 5 seasons? He went missing in the big games in his first stint too. He’s not Maldini, he’s not Kaka, Sheva or Seedorf either.
Who chose fonseca at the first place?
Who chose Fonseca? He must resign
Ibra is aware that fonseca doesn’t have the right charisma to coach a team that is at its full stretch of adulting, young, inexperienced and misguided!
This team doesn’t need a soft coach,
We need Allegri who can instill proper ethos and discipline. Allegri needs Milan as much as Milan needs Allegri!
What a disgraceful circus. But can’t say we should be surprised. I mean this is what happens when you construct your management team with a bunch of people with practically zero experience. We are lead by a Banker with zero background in football – and a “Boss” who is too arrogant to spend the time it takes day after day to help build a team. He is just a PR puppet that doesn’t take this seriously and it unfortunately shows. Disgraceful
The Boss – picked this coach and players. Now we are looking at retreads like Sarri and Allegri? lol. And ya and Tudor because “he’s a cheap option”???
Again – the LACK OF AMBITION from Redbird is clear for the world to see. What a fkn shame for this once proud club.
