GdS: No reply from Raiola after latest offer to Donnarumma – three possible replacements eyed

By Oliver Fisher -

At the moment there has been no serious progress in talks over the renewal of Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to a report.

Today, La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) explains that at the moment there are no meetings scheduled between Milan and Raiola. However, telephone contacts between Paolo Maldini, Frederic Massara and Donnarumma’s agent remain frequent and the Rossoneri have used them to put forward an offer of €8million net per season, a significant increase compared to the current salary received by Gigio.

Raiola has not accepted the new offer yet and is reflecting on other possibilities for his client, but there is the feeling that a lot of Europe’s top teams already have their goalkeeping situation resolved so the market might not be full of suitors.

Donnarumma’s desire to stay at Milan to play the Champions League with the team he has always been a fan of continues to be a big factor, but the stalemate in the renewal negotiations is not the ideal scenario. Mike Maignan of Lille, Juan Musso of Udinese and Pierluigi Gollini of Atalanta are three options to potentially replace him.

    1. 8 million should be the final offer…..if he goes he goes….let us go for Gollini of Atalanta….he has fallen out with Gasperini and he can be a top GK for the next decade…plus Raiola is not his agent.

      1. Maignan, Musso and Gollini are not on Donnaruma’s level. Nowhere near. This means we’re going to be short at least about 10 points (which is on average what Gigio earns us per season through his performances) putting us struggling to make top 4. And when we start seeing goals go in more frequently, we’re gonna miss Gigio.
Pay the man and let’s be done. He’s top 5 in Europe easily and the figures are reflecting that (plus Maldini and Massara’s incompetence).

        1. This is Milan! If you are not a Milan fan you wouldn’t understand the lack of respect by Raiola. Presuming you are one, let’s say we reinforce or team and pay the salary to a new RW and CAM/CM and score more goals. Donnarumma can’t even play out of the back. Hesa great shot stopper though. But often puts defense in pressure cuz he cant play out of the back.
