GdS: ‘Now Ibra’s return is ever closer’ – talks continue over Zlatan’s Milan comeback

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return to AC Milan appears to be moving closer with all of the management in agreement that he should come back to the club, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) speaks about Gerry Cardinale’s return to Milano when his presence is expected for the return Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain.

This could be the right time for a new meeting with Ibrahimovic after the discussions in mid-September, when Cardinale and the former striker met two days in a row, at Milanello on the eve of the Newcastle game and at a hotel in the centre of Milan on the day of the match.

From then to today, the contacts between the ownership and Zlatan have remained alive, very alive. Ibra has also spoken about the possible return with the CEO Giorgio Furlani and the reflections are ongoing, even if those who know the Swede speak of an intrigued Ibra.

Ibrahimovic back at Milanello – perhaps as a collaborator of Pioli – in close daily contact with the team, would make everyone happy: the coach, who with Zlatan has forged a decisive axis to bring Milan back to success in Italy, and Ibrahimovic himself, involved in a project that would see him operational.

With Zlatan alongside him in the dressing room, Pioli would find the inimitable leadership (in his words) of a champion who until a few months ago set an example for his team-mates.
