GdS: Paqueta more fit and more motivated than a few months ago – Pioli smiles

AC Milan midfielder Lucas Paqueta appears determined to transform his fortunes after a difficult last few months, according to a report.

Sunday’s paper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) notes how the Brazilian was the star of the show on Saturday as head coach Stefano Pioli set up a first XI vs. reserves friendly at Milanello.

Paqueta scored a brace and was apparently full of energy, something which is crucial in view of Friday’s Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Juventus in which Pioli will be without suspended trio Theo Hernandez, Samu Castillejo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The 22-year-old apparently seems decidedly more motivated and much more fit than a few months ago, and it is particularly important given the rumours swirling in the media surrounding his future at the club.

A good impression between now and the end of the season could persuade Milan to stick with him and for probable new manager Ralf Rangnick to give him some time.
