GdS: Paqueta training with concentration and intensity again despite market rumours

Lucas Paqueta is working hard to recover his spot in Stefano Pioli’s plans despite being linked with an exit all throughout January.

Paqueta has been the centre of a storm recently having lost his spot in the starting XI with the switch to a 4-4-2 formation by head coach Stefano Pioli.

The former Flamengo man – who arrived a year ago in a €35m deal – asked not to be called up for the recent trip to Brescia after it was reported by numerous outlets that he was treated for stress and anxiety following the 3-2 win over Udinese.

Despite rumours of interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Fiorentina late in the window, the Brazil international has stayed at Milan.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport – as cited by MilanNews.it – the news filtering from Milanello is that of a concentrated Paquetà who is not at all distracted by the last hours of the market.

The paper claims that the 22-year-old has returned to training with intensity but working hard, in this Milan remodelled on Ibrahimovic’s characteristics, may not be enough.
