GdS: Pioli to trust same XI from Bologna in front of sell-out crowd vs. Torino

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will be backed by a sell-out crowd at San Siro tomorrow night against Torino, and Stefano Pioli will retain faith in the line-up that won in Bologna.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) writes this morning, 72,000 spectators are expected tomorrow night for the game against Torino, of which 10,000 from abroad (the United States, Israel, France, United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany and beyond).

Pioli will choose the same formation as in the first game against Bologna: Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Hernandez; Loftus-Cheek, Krunic, Reijnders; Pulisic, Giroud, Leao.

The 4-3-3 seen during the summer friendlies will also be kept, with three new signings. One of them, Loftus-Cheek, spoke about Milan yesterday on the sidelines of a meeting with fans in a Milan Store in the centre.

“We want to win every game. We have a great team, with top players. I think that as a team and as individuals of Milan we have a duty to think about winning, whether we are talking about the Champions League or the Scudetto,” he said.

“I can’t wait to meet the fans at San Siro. Now we want to give continuity and continue to improve.”

On the other hand, the latest signing Marco Pellegrino arrived at Milanello: “I’m a fast centre-back, strong in marking and aggressive. My idols are Sergio Ramos and Paolo Maldini. Once Martin Palermo compared me to Samuel, I would like to be like him. Meanwhile, I observe Tomori, Kalulu, Thiaw and Kjaer.”

    1. I don’t think introducing musah out of his natural position would be fair to him or the fans who will think he normally plays there. If you are talking about bringing him in as an energentic 8 for RLC. that would make a lot more sense in my eyes.
