GdS: Pioli calls Thuram ‘multiple times’ as Milan expect decision on Monday

AC Milan are on the hunt for a new striker ahead of next season and Marcus Thuram has ended up at the top of the wish list. His contract will expire at the end of the month and the Rossoneri are working on it.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, the free transfer is certainly a big factor but in terms of his playing style, Milan appreciate the Frenchman for his 1v1 strength, explosiveness and pace. He’s not a bomber (fierce goalscorer) but fits the profile, in other words.

Stefano Pioli has already spoken with Thuram to explain Milan’s project, stating that he will at least be a co-starter with Olivier Giroud. His main position will be centre-forward but he can also play on the wing if needed.

Indeed, as Bianchin stated in his tweet (author of Gazzetta article), Pioli has called Thuram ‘multiple times’ over the last few days. Milan are keen on closing the deal and a final decision is expected from the player on Monday.
