There was some perplexity among the AC Milan leadership after Stefano Pioli’s comments following the 5-1 derby defeat against Inter, a report claims.
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Radio Rossonera) reports that there was a ‘heated discussion’ in the dressing room after the game on Saturday and yesterday Geoffrey Moncada showed up at the trianing session at Milanello.
The feelings that emanate were disappointment given how much the derby means to the fans and the 5-1 scoreline is not something to be taken lightly, but also the desire to recover immediately.
The result did not put Pioli’s future at risk no matter how damaging it was and how ‘tragic’ the performance was, and instead the project continues with him at the centre of it.
However, a bit of uncertainty remains within the club after his post-match statements and how defensive he was. There was some ‘perplexity’ about his choice of words, but the Newcastle game provides a chance for a fresh start.
