There is still the possibility that Zlatan Ibrahimovic could start on Sunday evening against Lazio at San Siro, according to a report.
Ibrahimovic has not played an official match since last May when he limped off against Juventus after landing awkwardly on his knee in the 3-0 win over Juventus, but the Swede is finally ready to return to the field after fully recovering from the knee operation he underwent on June 18.
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes that Ibra cannot be 100%, but Stefano Pioli needs him immediately since on Sunday against Lazio he will not have the Covid-positive Olivier Giroud.
There are two paths that can be followed, and the first involves the Swede starting from the first minute, while the second instead is to bring him on during the game, but it will of course all depend on how the 39-year-old’s physical condition is based on training between now and the end of the work.
For Zlatan’s part, he has a ‘crazy’ desire to go back to player, but if the staff were cautious then it would be Rebic or Leao up front given that Pellegri is still behind his team-mates.
