Gds: Pioli and Leao make peace over Napoli substitution

Rafael Leao and Stefano Pioli have made peace with one another over the controversial substitution against Napoli which led to a very angry reaction, a report claims.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News), there is no longer any issue between the coach and the player for fans to worry about.

With the game at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona at 2-2 with around 10 minutes to go, Pioli made the brave decision to remove both Leao and Olivier Giroud for Noah Okafor and Luka Jovic.

This led to an angry reaction from both players who were taken off, but this report claims that at least with Leao, there was a talk between himself and Pioli which clarified the situation.

Milan were unable to find a winning goal which may not have helped Pioli’s case, but he explained the need for fresh legs at that stage of the contest.

  1. Does he need to explain to the players for Christ sake i belived he did what is necessary to avoid unnecessary injuries poili should command respect in that room unless things like this will keep coming.

    1. They dont respect him he is a weak coach. Did you see Rebic interview where he critisized Pioli ? He explained that Ibrahimovic was the one calling the shots more than Pioli. He critisized Pioli for his unprofesional behavior.

    2. Pioli doesn’t have that kind of anger.
He acts like a father to the boys, always forgiving.
      Jesus mentality…

      We need Jong-un

  2. The last thing we need is a rift brewing in the locker room. Pioli seems soft, maybe which is why they are trying to bring Ibra back.

  3. Sell Leao. He is not good enough for AC Milan. Maybe in a lower league team. This is a futsal player. He is not a player for real top-tier football games. GET RID OF HIM.
