GdS: Pioli ready to bet on midfield outcast as Freiburg withdraw €8m offer

By Isak Möller -

The midfield has been a hot topic for Milan this summer, constantly linked with new players for the department. However, in addition to reinforcing, they are also expected to make some sales before the transfer window closes.

As reported by today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), in quite a surprising turn of events, Rade Krunic could remain at Milan. The Bosnian joined the club last summer and didn’t get a lot of playing time in his first season.

Therefore, he seemed destined to leave and Freiburg even came in with an €8m offer for his services. The Rossoneri, however, decided to put the offer on hold and the German side eventually withdrew it.

Stefano Pioli has always been a fan of Krunic and is now ready to bet on him, although it remains to be seen which role he will play in. Should another defensive midfielder arrive, it will most likely be in the attacking trio.
