GdS: Pioli sees his future at Milan as he aims to create a winning cycle

Stefano Pioli wants to stay at AC Milan for a long time and continue the fantastic work that he has so far carried out since arriving in 2018.

As reported today by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Pioli gave a speech yesterday at Coverciano during which he spoke about the love he has for Milan but above all the fact that he is looking to continue for some time yet.

“I feel at home in Milan and when one feels at home he would not want to take consider nothing else. And then I think we still have many things to do. In any case, the contract and the future do not worry me,” he said.

Pioli is always calm but goes straight to the point with his words, revealing that there are still objectives that he and his team feel they must tick off. He is happy at Milan and the club are happy with his work, believing he has helped create one of the most exciting projects in Italy and in Europe.

His contract expires in 2023, but it shouldn’t be a problem to exercise the option to renew for another year because Pioli earned the esteem of the management and Milan fans especially after last year’s Scudetto.

Pioli wants that league title to be a prelude to a cycle that can be successful. The next game in Empoli will be the 146th Milan game that Pioli will manage and this season he can climb two more positions in the ranking.

The former Lazio and Fiorentina coach is already the third-best Milan coach by percentage of victories with 56.55%, behind only Ancelotti and Busini.
