GdS: Pioli set to rotate against Sampdoria – four changes to the XI possible

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is expected to make at least three changes to the starting line-up for tomorrow’s game against Sampdoria, a report claims.

Milan have had a very intense start to the season and in particular a tough last few days, as they won a thrilling derby against Inter at San Siro on Saturday and then played Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League on Tuesday in Austria.

According to what is being reported by Luca Bianchin of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pioli is thinking about multiple changes to keep things fresh. Simon Kjaer should start in defence, though it is not clear if Fikayo Tomori or Pierre Kalulu would be rested.

Tommaso Pobega is also likely to get the nod having made a few cameos off the bench so far and having started against Sassuolo, although again it is unclear who he will take the place of out of Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer.

In attack, Brahim Diaz could replace Charles De Ketelaere in the playmaker role and Divock Origi is likely to start over Olivier Giroud up front, but final decisions will come in the final training session.

  1. This rotation for of squad is going to be an issue. This same rotation of a thing cost us the match against sassuolo and now he wants to play the same players who couldn’t give us the needed 3 points against sassuolo. I just pray we are able to cope this season with this rotation

  2. The problem is Not the rotation but the players he is rotating with, pobega is not a good fit for this squad and also Diaz is finished and can not do anything anymore, it is time to try vrancxx and let him play.

    Vrancxx for tonali
    Dest for Calabria
    Adli for CDK
    Origi for Giroud

    These four is enough
