AC Milan have no doubts about the future of head coach Stefano Pioli and intend to keep him regardless of the team’s top four fate, a report claims.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) recently reported how Pioli’s excellent work on the bench is certainly one of the major factors behind the fantastic post-lockdown period that Milan had, but now he is at risk in this season finale. Getting top four and securing a spot in the next Champions League would be enough for Pioli, but it is clear that Milan’s collapse in the second round could put him at risk if it continues.
Now, the same paper (via MilanNews) have done a U-turn on the previous report, it seems. The coach is not actually at risk regardless of whether he steers the team back to the Champions League.
This is because has created a tactical model, has found new points of reference and has raised the value of several players. His relationship with Ibrahimovic also strengthens the position of the coach. Unless there is a cataclysmic failure, Milan will continue with Pioli.
