GdS: Pioli’s ‘wildcard’ Florenzi set to replace Hernandez against Juventus

AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez is set to be replaced against Juventus by Alessandro Florenzi as he shows himself to be Stefano Pioli’s most versatile player, a report claims.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Florenzi is the player that Pioli seems to be turning to when he needs to plug a gap almost anywhere in the starting eleven.

With Theo Hernandez suspended for the match against Juventus on Sunday thanks to his fifth yellow card of the season coming against Genoa, Pioli is left without a natural left-back other than 17-year-old Davide Bartesaghi.

Favouring experience, Pioli is going to use Florenzi there now that he is fully fit and willing to play where he is asked.

When talking about Yacine Adli this season, Pioli said: “He has become one of the starters, one of the twenty players who can play in any match.” This is a reference to the deep squad he now has and Florenzi is an example of that.
