AC Milan have a number of different midfield targets on their radar and one of them is reported to be Marko Grujic of Porto.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Grujic is one of Milan’s ideas with regards to giving the final touch to the midfield after the summer reconstruction following the sale of Sandro Tonali to Newcastle United.
Grujic has worked under one of the best managers in world football having spent time at Liverpool with Jurgen Klopp, which served him well as he told DAZN.
“Klopp and his staff have helped me a lot in my personal growth, I’m proud of having had the chance to play for them. I learned a lot from my colleagues in terms of professionalism, I will always be grateful for that chance,” he said.
After loans to Cardiff City and Hertha BSC he decided to move to Porto, where he has become a key figure in Sergei Conceicao’s team and has performed well in the Champions League.
With Porto he collected 39 appearances, 1 goal and 1 assist last season, but above all he often showed characteristics on the pitch that would be useful for Pioli’s football.
From playing in front of the defence (and if necessary in a more advanced position or inside) to technical qualities, and crucially tactical intelligence.
At the moment, Milan have asked for information and nothing more. After the approaches for Mehdi Taremi, Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada understood that the margins of negotiation with the Portuguese are reduced.
Porto have always been an expensive shop, but the discussion could return to the agenda towards the end of the market when new possibilities can reopen.
