AC Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri has opted to rotate his side for this afternoon’s game against Fiorentina.

Milan were held to a 1-1 draw against Genoa on Thursday night at San Siro in a game that took place less than 70 hours ago. With some players feeling the effect of that physically, the coach is determined to shake things up a bit and add some fresh energy.

Fiorentina vs. AC Milan: Predicted starting XIs

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), Allegri will stick with his 3-5-2 formation and the three-man defence will feature Koni De Winter – in for the suspended Fikayo Tomori – alongside Matteo Gabbia and Strahinja Pavlovic. Mike Maignan will be between the posts.

Alexis Saelemaekers and Pervis Estupinan are down as the wing-backs, with Davide Bartesaghi getting a rest. Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ardon Jashari and Adrien Rabiot (a doubt due to a knock) are expected to be the midfield three behind Niclas Füllkrug and Christian Pulisic.

Predicted Milan XI (3-5-2): Maignan; De Winter, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Loftus-Cheek, Jashari, Rabiot, Estupinan; Füllkrug, Pulisic.

Predicted Milan bench: Terracciano, Torriani, Athekame, Dutu, Odogu, Bartesaghi, Ricci, Modric, Nkunku, Leao.

Predicted Fiorentina XI (4-1-4-1): De Gea; Dodo, Comuzzo, Pongracic, Gosens; Fagioli; Solomon, Mandragora, Sohm, Gudmundsson; Kean.

Predicted Fiorentina bench: Christensen, Lezzerini, Kuoadio, Ranieri, Fortini, Parisi, Kospo, Nicolussi-Caviglia, Brescianini, Fazzini, Ndour, Piccoli, Kouame.

    1. Yeah I would like to see Ricci and Jashari together with Rabiot. Then you can throw in RLC and Modric last 20 or so to control the game better with Modric, and get some stronger presence on set pieces with RLC.

Allegri always seem to favour 2 more physical mezzalas around the regista. Its always 2 out of Rabiot, Fofana and RLC playing in the midfield if they are available. Then 1 of Modric and Jashari, and Ricci to fill in at the mezzala spot when needed, usually in the second half.
