AC Milan are back in league action this evening against Torino away from home, and they are looking to right the wrongs after Tuesday’s Champions League exit.

Milan’s aggregate defeat to Feyenoord has left just one major mission to try and salvage the season which is to get into the top four, and they cannot afford to drop many more points if they are to achieve that aim.

Sergio Conceicao said in his pre-match press conference that every game must be treated like a final from now until the end of the season, and a tricky test against Torino awaits given they have lost just once in 2025.

The predicted starting XIs

Milan will be without Emerson Royal, Alessandro Florenzi, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Luka Jovic and Kyle Walker for the game, with all of them out due to injury.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) predicts a back four of Alex Jimenez, Malick Thiaw, Strahinja Pavlovic and Theo Hernandez in front of the goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

Youssouf Fofana should get some more rest meaning Yunus Musah and Tijjani Reijnders occupy the double pivot. Christian Pulisic, Joao Felix and Rafael Leao should operate behind Santiago Gimenez, meaning the ‘Fantastic Four’ will be fielded again.

Predicted Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Jimenez, Tomori, Pavlovic, Theo; Fofana, Reijnders; Pulisic, Felix, Leao; Gimenez.

Predicted Torino XI (4-2-3-1): Milinkovic-Savic; Walukiewicz, Maripan, Coco, Biraghi; Ricci, Casadei; Lazaro Vlasic, Karamoh; Adams.

    1. Luckily this year Milan did not had problems with injuries. Only several players and not best one.
      But result still went down.

I think Ruben Loftus is in situation he had before signing for Milan. In Chelse he was often injured. That’s why he was gamble. But it was realistic small transfer fee.

Now we will see what will happen in summer.

  1. Milan played the best football this season in the 1st half against Feyenoord. So for me Musah needs to start alongside Reinjders. He offers more defensive than Fofana who in my opinion should be dropped to the bench.

Musah MUST play in the midfield in the double pivot alongside Reinjders. That’s his best position.

    1. Musah is very good physically (speed and agility), but his football IQ is where he lacks. His decision making is a cause for concern to me most times. It would be a mistake to think that he could perform in midfield better than Fofana who has shown his quality this season in both phases of the game. He’s not perfect mind you, but he’s definitely made that midfield role his own on this team.

  2. Cutting Fofana from the 1st line up must be another level of stupidity , torino is know as a hard working team who press and run a lot, they will over run our midfield as bolt vs snail

  3. Can somebody tell me what Theo o
Still doing in this fixture line up. My observation Leao, Theo and Maignan are our current problems in this season they cost us matches, after matches. We should cut them loose and find potential replacements ASAP.

  4. Drop Felix. Let Tiji play forward. Togami and Musah in the double pivot. Plenty of firepower still and way more balance. I get that Felix had a sleepover at Sarge’s house but he is not good for balance and should be a sub the first attacking sub off the bench.

    1. EXACTLY!!! I thought I was the only one noticing this. Other than the Coppa match when he debuted, he’s been out of sync with the other players ever since.

  5. 4231 is making Milan slog like mad when the defensive mid duo isn’t strong and the wingers like Leao often walking in the park.

It’s better to use 442 twin striker and ensure stability in the middle. Start leao at the 60th min from the Bench

  6. Crazy Idea:

drop Leao play Felix there, Puli on the right, Reijnders at the 10 with Fofana and Musah. Then bring in Leao in the second half if you need the result.

Put your players in the right positions to succeed.
