GdS: Probable Milan XI to face Crotone – star duo back; new chance for Chelsea loanee

By Oliver Fisher -

Some team news has emerged ahead of Sunday’s game against Crotone at San Siro from today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The list of injuries is shortening, as Pioli will be without centre-back Matteo Gabbia who is closing in on a return, as well as Brahim Diaz and Simon Kjaer who are both recovering from thigh muscle problems.

The paper reports that  Davide Calabria, Fikayo Tomori, Alessio Romagnoli and Theo Hernandez will be the defensive quartet from right to left in front of Gianluigi Donnarumma. Ismael Bennacer will return to the XI for the first time since December, coming back into the double pivot alongside Franck Kessie.

The trio behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be Alexis Saelemaekers, Hakan Calhanoglu – back after COVID – and Rafael Leao (chosen over Ante Rebic) as Milan look to hold on to top spot.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Calabria, Tomori, Romagnoli, Theo Hernandez; Kessie, Bennacer; Saelemaekers, Calhanoglu, Leao; Ibrahimovic.
