GdS: Probable Milan XI to face Sparta Praha – Daniel Maldini favoured over Brahim Diaz

By Oliver Fisher -

Daniel Maldini looks set to get a start against Sparta Praha in AC Milan’s last game of the Europa League group stages, a report claims.

According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the XI that Pioli picks will be very different from the one seen against Sampdoria, with qualification for the knockout stages already in the bag.

In goal Ciprian Tatarusanu should get the nod, while at right-back and left-back respectively will be Andrea Conti and Diogo Dalot. Matteo Gabbia and Leo Duarte will be the centre-back pairing, with the Brazilian set for his first start of the season.

In midfield, Rade Krunic will join Sandro Tonali, while Franck Kessie will be rested. The attacking trident behind Lorenzo Colombo will be Samuel Castillejo on the right wing, Jens Petter Hauge on the left and Daniel Maldini is ahead of Brahim Diaz to be the playmaker.

Probable Sparta Praha XI (3-5-2): Nita; Plechaty, Pavelka, Hancko; Vindheim, Travnik, Soucek, Krejci, Hanousek; Julis, Moberg Karlsson.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Tatarusanu; Conti, Gabbia, Duarte, Dalot; Tonali, Krunic; Castillejo, Maldini (Diaz), Hauge; Colombo.
