GdS: Probable starting XIs for Roma vs. Milan – Pioli to rely on his favourites

By Isak Möller -

After two consecutive defeats in Serie A, Milan will be looking to bounce back with what would be a big win on Sunday evening, taking on Roma. The latter are in fourth place and keeping them behind would be very important.

Despite some shouts from the fans, who are frustrated with especially captain Alessio Romagnoli, Stefano Pioli will field the usual XI. That is according to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (see photo below).

This means that Romagnoli will partner up with Simon Kjaer in the heart of defence, and both will have a point to prove. Fikayo Tomori is waiting on the bench, ready to replace either one of them after what has been a successful spell for him.

Ante Rebic is ahead of Rafael Leao for the left-wing position, despite a few negative displays. Against Red Star mid-week, he was horrendous and just like Romagnoli, he will have something to prove tomorrow evening.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Calabria, Kjaer, Romagnoli, Hernandez; Kessie, Tonali; Saelemaekers, Calhanoglu, Rebic; Ibrahimovic.

Probable Roma XI (3-4-2-1): Pau Lopez; Mancini, Cristante, Fazio; Karsdorp, Villar, Veretout, Spinazzola; Pellegrini, Mkhitaryan; Mayoral.
