GdS: Probable XIs for Inter vs. Milan – Meite to get the nod as 3-5-2 faces 4-2-3-1

Derby Day is among us once again. Tonight, AC Milan will face off against city rivals Inter in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have published their predicted XIs for the game in this morning’s edition, starting with the ‘home’ side for this game which will see manager Antonio Conte field the usual 3-5-2.

To protect Handanovic will be the trio of Skriniar, De Vrij and Kolarov. In midfield Darmian and Perisic will act on the flanks with Barella, Brozovic and Vidal down the middle, plus Lautaro Martinez and Lukaku up front.

Pioli responds with a 4-2-3-1 as expected, and with Gianluigi Donnarumma disqualified, Ciprian Tatarusanu will be in goal. Diogo Dalot will play right-back with Kjaer and the returning Romagnoli the centre-backs and Theo Hernandez on the left.

In the midfield will be Soualiho Meite as Franck Kessie’s partner, with Alexis Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz and Rafael Leao the trio behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Probable Inter XI (3-5-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, Kolarov; Darmian, Barella, Brozovic, Vidal, Perisic; Lautaro Martinez, Lukaku.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Tatarusanu; Dalot, Kjaer, Romagnoli, Theo Hernandez; Meite, Kessie; Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz, Rafael Leao; Ibrahimovic.
