Milan will take part in their last friendly game of the pre-season this evening, facing Panathinaikos in Trieste. Just like the squad, which you can see here, there aren’t many surprises in the probable XI.
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (see photo below), Stefano Pioli will field what very well could be the starting XI against Sampdoria in little over a week. In defence, Simon Kjaer is expected to start alongside Fikayo Tomori, thus replacing Alessio Romagnoli.
Further up the pitch, Sandro Tonali will get yet another chance to show his qualities as Franck Kessie has sustained an injury. The midfield tandem, also including Ismael Bennacer, should thus be the same for the upcoming games.

Hopefully, the Rossoneri can get back on the scoresheet this evening after failing to score in the last two games (0-0 against Valencia and Real Madrid). It would certainly give them a boost for the season opener.
Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Hernandez; Bennacer, Tonali; Saelemaekers, Diaz, Leao; Giroud.

So that’s where Macheda ended up! Remember him from 10 years ago when everybody talked about him being the star to look out for…
Nevertheless, this may be the strongest starting eleven with the players Milan has available for the moment (-Kessie who injured himself). Looking forward to the match!
