AC Milan are expected to be almost at full strength for the big match against Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma side on Sunday evening.
As has been predicted by La Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), Stefano Pioli is going to be calling upon what many consider to be his first-choice eleven, barring one or two positions.
Mike Maignan is injured so he will have to use Ciprian Tatarusanu again, but he has the favoured back four of Theo Hernandez, Fikayo Tomori, Pierre Kalulu and Davide Calabria available.
Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennnacer are the favoured midfield two, and Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud will both start. The two other attacking roles are open to more debate as to who is best, but Brahim Diaz and Alexis Saelemaekers are expected to start.
Mourinho is expected to pick Tammy Abraham, Paulo Dybala and Nicolo Zaniolo in attack with Bryan Cristante and Lorenzo Pellegrini behind them.
Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Tatarusanu; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Hernandez; Bennacer, Tonali; Saelemaekers, Diaz, Leao; Giroud.
Probable Roma XI (3-4-2-1): Patricio; Mancini, Smalling, Ibanez; Celik, Cristante, Pellegrini, Zalewski; Dybala, Zaniolo; Abraham.
