GdS: Probable XIs for Roma vs. Milan – Pioli opts for the Napoli recipe

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli is expected to stick with what seems to be at the moment his first choice starting XI for the game against Roma tonight.

According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (as seen below), Pioli should deploy the midfield trio of Sandro Tonali, Ismael Bennacer and Rade Krunic which was so effective in neutralising Napoli’s trio in the three recent meetings.

Mike Maignan will be in goal with a back four of Davide Calabria – back from suspension – Simon Kjaer, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez in front of him.

The attack is expected to be formed of Brahim Diaz on the right flank, Rafael Leao on the left and Olivier Giroud up front, with the Frenchman having recovered from calf discomfort.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Tonali, Krunic; Brahim Diaz, Bennacer, Leao; Giroud.

Probable Roma XI (3-4-2-1): Patricio; Mancini, Kumbulla, Ibanez; Zalewski, Cristante, Matic, Spinazzola; Pellegrini, El Shaarawy; Belotti.
