GdS: PSG register interest in Milan midfielder as stalemate over contract continues

By Oliver Fisher -

Paris Saint-Germain have registered an interest in signing Hakan Calhanoglu from Milan on a free transfer, according to a report.

According to the French website le10sport – which cites La Gazzetta dello Sport – PSG’s sporting director Leonardo is interested in stinging his former club Milan with a move for Calhanoglu.

The paper claims that Calhanoglu has ‘seduced’ Leonardo and he is ready to try and him to the French capital during the next summer transfer window. Negotiations between Milan and Calhanoglu are currently blocked as the two sides have so far been unable to reach an agreement.

Calhanoglu’s entourage – and in particular his agent Gordon Stipic – have guaranteed priority status to the Rossoneri but both sides must make an effort to narrow the gap between offer and demand. While the management are offering a four-year contract at €4m net per year, Calhanoglu wants €5m so it is clear that an extra push is needed to find an agreement.
