GdS: Rabiot declines ‘very rich’ offer from Milan amid Barcelona interest

By Ben Dixon -

Throughout the summer, AC Milan have held an interest in bringing Adrien Rabiot to the club, and whilst there have been hurdles, they have seemingly stayed in the race. However, their chances are fading.

The midfield has been a topic of interest for some time now. During last season, Milan’s imbalance in the centre of the pitch was often taken advantage of, and there were regular debates about the composition of the midfield trio.

Therefore, it was pivotal for the Rossoneri to improve during the mercato, and after adding their main target, Youssouf Fofana, they have surely improved the issue slightly. Nevertheless, alongside Fofana, the Diavolo also dreamt of adding Adrien Rabiot.

After leaving Juventus at the end of his contract, the midfielder has been contacted by several teams but still remains clubless, something which Milan hoped would lead him to join the club, but it seems this will not be the case.

As Gazzetta dello Sport reports, the club made an offer to the French midfielder, which they felt was very generous, especially considering the numbers the player and his entourage requested. But, Rabiot preferred to decline it. It is believed he is waiting for Barcelona, or ‘who knows else if they ever arrive’, as Gazzetta states.

  1. Can see Rabiot going to Man United. At this stage of his career he’s after one final big contract, so no “project” we market will appease our lower salary offer.

2b clear, I’m not saying we should increase our offer to him, I’m saying if he’s after the $$$ fair play to him but we’re not the club for him

    1. Looks like he wants to move to a place with nicer weather. I think you couldn’t be more far from his destination. I can see him not going to England ever. Barcelona is 20 times nicer than Milan, as a town.

  2. I don’t believe this because they would only have been able to register him if they had managed to offload Bennacer or Jovic. As soon as they didn’t do that, this possibility died.

  3. Rabiot is solid but brings more baggage then an Airport lounge and has a massive wage that will create even more problems then we already have.
Let’s get Vos, Liberali, Zeroli, Jimenez and Camarda more and more into the first team instead.

  5. Hahahahahahaha!!! Like this was a shocker????

Some of the Redbird Lovers actually believed we would sign Rabiot because he was “desperate” LOL

You obviously don’t know this guy and his momma’s history

And it’s pretty comical when they say “ the club made an offer to the French midfielder, which they felt was very generous, especially considering the numbers the player and his entourage requested” – LOLOLOLO

Glad we are basing salary offers on what we “feel” is generous – oh ya cause that always works.

I can just guess how the conversation went.

Furlani: Veroniquè we love your son and want him to come to Milan
    Veroniquè: ok how much?
Furlani: well considering you have no offers and are without a club we are prepared to give you 5M/season amd we think that is a very very generous offer!
    Veroniquè: ok how much
    Furlani: 5M season
    Veroniquè: ok how much?
Furlani: maybe if I say it French: Cinque Millions de dollars
Veroniquè: your French is just as $h8t as your English. What about my commission?
Furlani: well we don’t really offer those, I mean did I mention your son has no team and is desperate??
Veroniquè: “click” (sound of phone hanging up
Furlani: what? Was it something I said?
