GdS: Raiola-Milan axis continues – Donnarumma and Romagnoli renewals next after Ibrahimovic

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Mino Raiola have an axis of ever-increasing importance that will be tested in the coming weeks and months, a report claims.

As Thursday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reports (via MilanNews), once the renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic issue has been announced – with only confirmation missing – the Milan management will have to sit down at a table with Mino Raiola to discuss two other renewals; those of Donnarumma and Romagnoli.

One of the first steps for the construction of the Milan of the future is to keep Donnarumma, whose contract will expire in the summer of 2021. The young goalkeeper is a symbol for the club and wants to stay, but Raiola is pushing him to change clubs.

Currently, the 21-year-old earns €6million net per year, while the request for renewing could be €7million.

Then there is Romagnoli, another client of Raiola. The captain has a salary of €3.5million, and it is possible that Raiola could ask for that to be bumped up to €5m.

The defender is one of the pillars of Pioli’s team and he possesses talent and experience, but that is something which could tempt other teams. There is time to discuss it however, as his deal runs until 2022.
