There are currently two scenarios in play regarding the potential arrival of Ralf Rangnick at AC Milan, according to a report.
Yesterday, Rangnick finally admitted interest from Milan to German newspaper Mitteldeutsche Zeitung, stating: “There has been an interest from Milan, but with the coronavirus there were other things to consider, besides thinking if Ralf Rangnick was the right man for them or vice versa.”
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, there are two possible scenarios which his comments back up.
- From the club it filters that there is distance between the parties and that, although there have been concrete contacts, the chances of reaching a signature are very low;
2. Outside the club, however, it transpires that the agreement is practically already done. There are only a few details regarding figures and budgets available to the German manager.
The phrase ” other things to consider” pronounced by Rangnick could concern the budget, fundamental for the planning of the future of Milan. The Coronavirus emergency may have changed the total amount available to him for the re-launching of the Rossoneri.
However Rangnick made it clear that it is fundamental for him to have the necessary power to develop a certain project: “For me it is about having a certain influence, which has nothing to do with power, even if in certain situations you need it to carry out certain things.
“In Leipzig I hired two new physiotherapists and two new doctors in five hours. If I had to think theoretically that I had to go somewhere else with a new role, I should be able to do things this way.”
It is not a surprise that Rangnick asks for such guarantees since he has had them in virtually every role he has encountered, and after his public declarations it is possible we will start to see more concrete information either way.
