AC Milan have been forced to look at potential alternatives in case Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s renewal does not come to fruition, according to a report.
The Swede did not show up at the team meeting on Monday and will also miss the first training session of the new season on Tuesday in what is becoming a long and tedious saga.
It has been reported by almost every major outlet that Milan have put an offer of €6m net on the table for a one-year deal, but Ibrahimovic continues to demand a €7m fixed salary to sign the contract.
According to Tuesday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan are confident that the renewal will come eventually despite the hitches, which threaten to leave sour taste in the mouth.
However, the management do not want to be caught unprepared and for this reason they are evaluating other profiles for the attack. The paper claims that Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic – a 22-year-old Serbia international – is one of the main targets.
